Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones punted his gum after flying out in Wednesday night's game against San Diego.
It happened in the bottom of the sixth with one out and a runner on second. Jones hit a fly ball to shallow left that failed to advance the runner. Jones was clearly frustrated, so after jogging to first base, he spit the gum out of his mouth and punted it into the outfield.
Apparently it was the gum's fault? Jones didn't need to get so angry, as he already had two hits in the game and scored two runs as the Orioles held a 6-2 lead. As it happened, the runner at second was driven home by the next batter, padding the margin of the Orioles' 7-2 win.
