Argentina striker Ezequiel Lavezzi suffered an unfortunate injury in the second half of Tuesday night's Copa America semifinal against the U.S. when he broke his elbow by falling backwards over an advertising board.
It happened in the 63rd minute as Lavezzi was trying to keep a ball in bounds on the sideline at midfield. Lavezzi was chasing the ball backwards when he fell head-over-heels backwards over the board, which was positioned less than five feet from the pitch.
Lavezzi opened the scoring against the U.S. with a goal in the 3rd minute of the game to set the tone in Argentina's 4-0 victory. However, he will have to miss the Copa America final due to the injury.
