USC Trojans senior linebacker Jabari Ruffin was ejected from Saturday night's game against Alabama for stomping on the groin of Crimson Tide cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick.
It happened in the second quarter after an Alabama punt. As Fitzpatrick was laying on his back, USC punt returner Adoree' Jackson reached his arm out to help him up. Unfortunately, Jackson's display of good sportsmanship was wiped out when Ruffin walked in between them and forcefully stepped on Fitzpatrick's crotch.
Not cool at all. There's no excuse for that garbage. Fortunately, a referee was right there to witness the incident and tossed Ruffin immediately.
In addition to being ejected, USC will suspend Ruffin for the first half of next week's game against Utah State, and Ruffin will also write Fitzpatrick an apology letter.
