Minnesota Wild right winger Nino Niederreiter received a five-minute interference penalty and a game misconduct for upending Dallas Stars left winger Patrick Sharp during the third period of Thursday night's NHL game at the Xcel Energy Center.
Sharp tried to avoid Niederreiter's hit, but Niederreiter undercut him, sending Sharp flying head-over-heels into the air. Fortunately, Sharp was able to protect his head as he fell back down onto the ice to avoid serious injury.

The penalties were assessed at the 18:17 mark of the third period, so Niederreiter missed less than two minutes of ice time. The Wild beat the Stars 3-1.
