During Friday night's Seattle Mariners game at Safeco Field, New York Mets announcer Gary Cohen made sure not to pass up the opportunity to try the stadium specialty snack: toasted grasshoppers.
The Mets don't travel to Seattle very often as part of interleague play, and the toasted chile-lime grasshoppers on the menu at Safeco Field are not available at any other major league ballpark.
Cohen ate the grasshoppers live on the air during the bottom of the sixth inning and seemed to enjoy them, although he was surprised how spicy they were.
Keith Hernandez, however, had no desire to try them: "I'll pay the 8 bucks for the guacamole and chips."
The Mets beat the Mariners 7-5.
