Now here's something you don't see every day: Wabash kicker Schuyler Nehrig scored a touchdown by recovering his own blocked field goal during the third quarter of Saturday's Division III college football game against Ohio Wesleyan.
Nehrig lined up for a 41-yard field goal attempt with just under nine minutes left in the third as Ohio Wesleyan led 13-6. The kick was blocked, but with the ball loose on the ground and no one else able to track it down, Nehrig picked it up and ran all the way for the score.
Fortunately for Nehrig, the ball was still behind the line of scrimmage. Otherwise, the play would not have counted.
Nehrig scored all of Wabash's 13 points in the game, but it wasn't enough as Ohio Wesleyan came away with the 16-13 victory.
