Toronto Maple Leafs center Nazem Kadri grabbed the beard of San Jose Sharks center Joe Thornton and ripped out a piece of it during Thursday night's NHL game at the Air Canada Centre.
Kadri and Thornton lined up for the opening faceoff to start the game, but instead of fighting for possession of the puck, they immediately dropped the gloves and fought each other. During the fight, Kadri got himself a good grip on Thornton's beard. As they went down and the refs came in to separate them, a big chunk of hair from Thornton's beard ended up on the ice.
Now you don't see that every day.
Thornton and Kadri received 5 minute majors for the fight.
Kadri scored a power play goal in the second period, and the Leafs beat the Sharks 3-2 in a shootout.
