Jimmy Kimmel used his Monday night monologue to explain why he was laughing while Fergie sang her unusually sultry version of the National Anthem at the NBA All-Star Game.
Fergie's performance has been widely criticized, and Draymond Green was also laughing. Kimmel realized he was probably caught on camera when his phone began buzzing shortly after Fergie's performance. However, he turned it into a good joke:
"The reason I was smiling is because I love the National Anthem so much..."
