Sandy Leon K's as ball goes through his legs (Video)

Sandy Leon swings at pitch that goes through his legs

Boston Red Sox catcher Sandy Leon struck out on a pitch that went through his legs during Monday night's game in Washington.

It happened in the top of the second inning with one out and runners on first and second in a scoreless game. With a 2-2 count, Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer threw an off-speed pitch that fooled Leon so badly that he swung at the ball as it went through his legs.

Now there's something you don't see every day.

The pitch also fooled Nationals catcher Pedro Severino, as the ball bounced towards the backstop, allowing the runners to advance. Scherzer was charged with a wild pitch.

Leon went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts before being replaced in the ninth inning. However, the Red Sox beat the Nationals 4-3.
