An Oakland Athletics fan had his chance to snag a foul ball during Thursday night's game against Seattle and completely blew it.
It happened in the bottom of the ninth inning as A's batter Stephen Piscotty hit a 2-1 pitch foul into the third base stands. The fan, who brought a glove to the game, presumably to improve his odds of catching a ball, moved himself into perfect position to make the grab. Unfortunately, the ball squirted out of his glove behind him, where another fan a few rows back was able to make the catch.
Considering the A's lost to the Mariners 7-1, that makes for a painful night for this fan. Maybe he can meet up with this other A's fan and get some pointers.
