Columbus Blue Jackets right winger Josh Anderson left Tuesday night's game against Vancouver after being knocked headfirst into a goalpost.
It happened in the final minutes of the second period as Anderson stole the puck in the Canucks zone and tried to make a move towards the net. Anderson was cut off by Canucks defenseman Ben Hutton, who delivered a shoulder-to-shoulder check that knocked Anderson off his feet. Unfortunately, Anderson was unable to protect himself from colliding headfirst into the goalpost.
Anderson was down on the ice for a minute or two before being taken to the locker room. He did not return to the game, and according to The Athletic, Anderson is day-to-day with his "upper body injury" heading into Thursday night's game against Los Angeles..
The Canucks beat the Blue Jackets 3-2.
