New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist smashed his stick in frustration after giving up a goal during Sunday's road game against their division rival Washington Capitals.
It happened at the 5:09 mark of the second period as Caps right winger Tom Wilson scored a power play goal to give the defending Stanley Cup champions a 3-1 lead. Lundqvist could not contain his anger as he wound his arm back and slammed his stick on the crossbar.
The stick snapped in half, and Lundqvist grabbed a new stick from the Rangers bench before play resumed.
The Rangers were able to come from behind and tie the game at 5-5 with 30.3 seconds left to send the game into overtime. However, Lundqvist couldn't hold off the Caps in OT, as they scored with under a minute left to come away with the 6-5 win.
