Boston Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. had some fun with the fans prior to Saturday's spring training game against the rival New York Yankees by having them guess the number he was thinking of.
JBJ gave a pair of batting gloves to the fan who guessed 51, while he gave a baseball glove to a fan who guessed 48 or 49. These were apparently the closest guesses to the number he was thinking of, which was 42. This is Bradley's favorite number, which also happens to be the jersey number of baseball legend Jackie Robinson. The number 42 jersey has been retired on all MLB teams as a tribute to Robinson.
Bradley continued to interact with fans young and old, including signing baseballs and having conversations. That's what spring training is all about.
Bradley did not play in Saturday's game, but the Red Sox didn't need him as they beat the Yankees 8-5.
