Carolina Hurricanes right winger Justin Williams was given credit for a goal as the puck deflected off his face during Thursday night's NHL game in Florida.
It happened in the first period as Hurricanes defenseman Brett Pesce took a shot from the point towards the Panthers net. Williams had just passed the puck to Pesce from the back of the net. As Williams got into position in front of the net, he was hit in the side of the face by Pesce's shot, and the puck squeezed behind Panthers goaltender James Reimer and into the net for the score.
Williams went down initially before getting back up and heading straight to the locker room to get checked out. However, not only was Williams able to return to the game, but he got an assist and scored a second goal, which turned out to be the game winner as the Hurricanes beat the Panthers 4-3.
