Brady Tkachuk knocks out glass panel with massive hit

A jarring hit by Ottawa Senators left winger Brady Tkachuk was so hard that it knocked a glass panel out and into the front row during Thursday night's game against the visiting New York Islanders.

It happened just a few minutes into a scoreless first period as Islanders center Brock Nelson was playing the puck along the boards in his own end. Tkachuk rocked him against the boards with a huge hit, and before you knew what was happening, some fans in the front row were holding a pane of glass.

Fortunately, the pane of glass did not shatter, so play was stopped while some arena staff worked to put the glass pane back into place.

Tkachuk scored a goal a few minutes later and had three hits for the game, but it wasn't enough as the Islanders beat the Senators 4-2.
