In Bundesliga soccer action, an certain open goal by Hannover 96 midfielder Genki Haraguchi was stopped by the snow during Sunday's match against Bayer Leverkusen in what has to be one of the craziest moments in soccer in recent memory.
A long kick by Hannover 96 goalkeeper Michael Esser was perfectly placed for Haraguchi, who got behind the defense and caught the Bayer goalkeeper flat-footed. Haraguchi dribbled around the goalkeeper and shot right into the center of the net, but the ball slowed to a crawl, and a Bayer defender was able to recover and knock it away before it crossed the goal line.
Looking at this from every angle, it is absolutely unbelievable.
To add insult to injury, Haraguchi's missed opportunity was the difference in the game as Bayer Leverkusen came away with the 3-2 win.
