Toronto Maple Leafs center Patrick Marleau displayed some amazing skill by leaping over an opposing player during Saturday night's game against Buffalo.
It happened in the third period as the puck was loose at center ice, with Sabres defenseman Brandon Montour the only player between Marleau and the empty net. Montour laid out on the ice in a desperate attempt to knock the puck away and, at the very least, try to slow down Marleau. Unfortunately, Montour failed at both counts, because not only did he miss the puck when trying to knock it towards the boards, but Marleau was able to leap over him while skating at full speed to set himself up for a breakaway opportunity.
Marleau was unable to capitalize as he was stuffed by Sabres goaltender Linus Ullmark multiple times, but it was exciting to watch and the hometown fans appreciated it.
The Maple Leafs beat the Sabres 5-2.
