The Philadelphia Phillies held a press conference at their spring training facility in Clearwater, Florida on Saturday to introduce Bryce Harper, who signed a 13-year, $330 million contract earlier this week.
At the press conference, Harper thanked the Phillies organization and said a lot of the right things, except:
"We want to bring a title back to D.C...."
Whoops. Considering how Harper spent the last 7 seasons as a member of the Washington Nationals, it's understandable that he might have a slip such as this, but after signing as a free agent with one of their division rivals, it certainly comes across a bit awkward.
