Miami Marlins starter Trevor Richards suffered a hilarious mishap as one of his pitches sailed into the backstop during Tuesday night's game against San Francisco.
It happened in the top of the fourth with one out and a Giants runner on first base. On his first pitch to Giants batter Brandon Belt, Richards lost his footing, causing him to release the ball early and sending the pitch WAY over the catcher's head, allowing the Giants runner to advance to second easily.
Richards' teammates had trouble concealing their laughter in the Marlins dugout.
Fortunately, the rest of the outing went rather smoothly for Richards, who only gave up one run on two hits in seven innings as the Marlins beat the Giants 11-3.
