In Eastern League Double-A minor league baseball action, an Altoona Curve fan caught a foul ball with his beer cup during Friday's game against Richmond.
It happened in the bottom of the second inning as Pittsburgh Pirates outfield prospect Chris Sharpe hit a foul popup behind the plate. The ball bounced in the aisle and went further back into the stands when the alert Curve fan used his plastic drink cup to catch the ball.
The Curve fan's cup was empty, but he chugged down whatever residual drops were remaining in the cup as he received a well-deserved round of applause.
