Chicago Cubs reliever Craig Kimbrel had his unusual pitching style mimicked by Little League players during Sunday night's MLB Little League Classic in Williamsport against Pittsburgh.
Kimbrel started the ninth inning with the Cubs holding a 7-0 lead. As Kimbrel would crouch down with his elbows out prior to his windup, dozens of kids behind the plate were playing along by impersonating his atypical stance.
Kimbrel gave up a home run and hit a batter, but then struck out two before being taken out of the game as the Cubs beat the Pirates 7-1. Kimbrel deserves some credit for adjusting to the surroundings, as the kids in the orange jerseys behind the plate who were imitating him made for an interesting distraction.
