Kris Bryant gets easy double as Mets lose ball in lights

Mets shortstop Amed Rosario and LF JD Davis lose ball in lights

Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant hit a popup that turned into a double thanks to some miscommunication in the field by the New York Mets during Wednesday night's game at Citi Field.

It happened in the top of the second with the Cubs already holding a 6-1 lead. Bryant led off the inning and popped up the 0-1 pitch into short left field. Left fielder JD Davis called for it as he came in, but shortstop Amed Rosario didn't seem to hear him as he followed the ball onto the grass. Both Davis and Rosario seemed to have a chance to catch it, but then both pulled up as they saw each other. The ball landed in the grass and Bryant ended up on second base.

Davis and Rosario did not seem happy with each other after the miscommunication.

It was that kind of the night for the Mets as the Cubs scored 10 runs in the first three innings in a 10-7 win.
