Los Angeles Kings center Jeff Carter destroyed Toronto Maple Leafs center Alexander Kerfoot with a tremendous open-ice hit during Tuesday night's game at the Scotiabank Arena.
It happened in the first period as Kerfoot was clearing the puck from the Maple Leafs zone. He didn't see Carter lining him up until it was too late.
The hit was clean, so no penalty was called. Kerfoot got up under his own power and skated to the bench. He was able to return and score a goal in the second period as the Maple Leafs beat the Kings 3-1.
