Dallas Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch was the victim of an equipment breakdown during Sunday's NFL playoff game against San Francisco as his last name was misspelled on his jersey.
Vander Esch played the first half against the Niners with the 's' and 'c' in 'Esch' switched around, resulting in the name "Vander Ecsh" on his back.
It is inexplicable how the equipment managers of the Cowboys allow this to happen, during a playoff game no less, considering Vander Esch has started on defense all season long. The Cowboys misspelled Leighton Vander Esch’s name 😠pic.twitter.com/I5ZnUWo4HN

The jersey mistake did not impact Vander Esch's play on the field, as he led the Cowboys at halftime with 8 tackles. However, it did seem to foreshadow issues with the team's performance overall, as the Cowboys went into halftime losing to the Niners 16-7.
