It happened just about two minutes into the game between the two Washington D.C. schools. A border collie named Lucky was scheduled to be the featured halftime entertainment. Apparently Lucky took a wrong cue and darted onto the court towards where the ball was bouncing out of bounds. The spry border collie gave senior Ricky Lindo Jr. a bit of a scare, as he was chasing the ball out of bounds and turned around to see the dog charging towards him. Certainly not anything he would be expecting during a typical basketball game.
Lucky quickly turned around and ran off the court, presumably back to the people it came in with. Next time, the handlers better bring a leash.Dog runs on the court during American vs George Washington game 🤣 pic.twitter.com/aRiNqqRbix

When halftime did come around, Lucky displayed some impressive skill at catching frisbees.
We have seen our share of animals running onto fields in various other sports, but this is the first time we saw an animal run onto a basketball court.Dog runs on the court during American vs George Washington game 🤣 pic.twitter.com/aRiNqqRbix

Since play with stopped as the ball went out of bounds, the interruption had virtually no impact on the game itself. Unfortunately, Lucky did not bring GW good luck as the Colonials lost to American 69-64.
