Brooklyn Nets center Nic Claxton rejected a dunk attempt by Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid during Wednesday night's NBA matchup between Eastern Conference heavyweights.
It happened with just under four minutes remaining in the first quarter as the Nets held a 32-30 lead. Embiid had the ball at the top of the key and took it to the basket, thinking he would have an uncontested dunk when Claxton came over for the rejection, swatting the ball against the backboard.
Unfortunately, the Nets were unable to capitalize as they turned the ball over, and Embiid sank a jumper to tie the game. However, he was still a bit salty about the rejection by Claxton, so when play stopped as Nets forward Royce O'Neal took some free throws, Embiid started talking trash to Claxton, who did not back down. They ended up going nose to nose, and the officials called double technicals on them.Between this, James Harden and the Ben Simmons drama, this has become quite a rivalry and fun to watch.
