It happened with 1:14 left in the fourth quarter as the Warriors held a 116-114 lead. Warriors guard Jordan Poole had just missed a 30-foot jumper, and as Curry ran back on defense, he took his mouth guard out of his mouth and threw it in frustration. For some reason, the officials deemed this a violation serious enough to eject Curry from the game.
Curry pleaded his case to the officials, but to no avail. Seems a bit excessive for the officials to be ejecting Curry for this, especially at such a critical moment in the game.
Fortunately, the Warriors were able to hold on for a 122-120 victory as Poole hit the game-winning layup with 2.1 seconds left. Curry still finished the game as the leading scorer with 34 points.
