In Sunday night NBA playoff action, Game 4 of the Eastern Conference first round series between the Atlanta Hawks and visiting Boston Celtics was delayed when stray pieces of confetti began falling from the top of Philips Arena.
Play was stopped by the officials with 1:19 remaining in the first quarter with the Celtics holding a 33-22 lead. TNT announcers were confused as how the confetti suddenly appeared and what event the confetti would be connected to, especially with the Hawks down in the series 2-1.
We have seen many sports events delayed for strange reasons over the years, but this is the first time we have seen a game delayed because of confetti.Confetti was falling on the court mid-game. 😂
