Draymond Green ejected for stomping on Domantas Sabonis (Video)

Draymond Green stomps on Domantas Sabonis, Warriors vs. Kings, 4/17/2023
Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green was ejected from Game 2 of their NBA Western Conference first round matchup against Sacramento for stomping on the stomach of Kings big man Domantas Sabonis.

It happened with just over seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter with the Kings holding a 91-87 lead. While trying to position himself for an offensive rebound, Sabonis fell to the ground at Green's feet. As the Warriors grabbed the rebound and began dribbling to the other end of the court, Green stomped on Sabonis' stomach with his right foot. Green kept his foot on his stomach to put his full weight on it as he stepped over him.

Here are a couple of angles of the shameful incident:

An official was right there and immediately blew the whistle, and they reviewed the play to confirm it was a flagrant foul (which was obvious). During the review, Green taunted the hometown Kings fans to get them riled up. After several minutes, the officials made the easy call to assess Green with a flagrant 2, leading to the automatic ejection. As for Sabonis, he finished the game with 24 points and 9 rebounds, leading the Kings to a 114-106 victory as they took a 2-0 series lead over the defending champions.

Green has been known for his trash talk on the court and kicking opponents in the groin on occasion, so this is just another incident to add to his "resume". We would expect him to see a large fine. Not sure if he will get a one-game suspension, but given his pattern of behavior over the years, that discussion has to be on the table. This behavior has no place in the game of basketball and sets a terrible example for fans, especially young viewers in the stands and at home.
