Spanish pro golfer Jon Rahm used his club to smash a microphone on the course to vent some anger during Saturday's third round of the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club.
It happened on the 5th hole as Rahm was trying to chip his way out of the rough and onto the green. Rahm shanked the chip to the right as it came to a stop on the far edge of the green about 30 feet from the hole. That was clearly not what Rahm was trying to do, and he released his frustration by slamming a course mic with his club.
We are going to guess that the microphone has some damage as a result, and it would be only be appropriate for the PGA Tour to send Rahm the bill for this.
Rahm is certainly not the only golfer having a frustrating weekend, as Rory McIlroy was heard cursing after a bad tee shot during Friday's second round.
Rahm finished the hole with a bogey and went on to finish 2-over for the day, although he did finish the round strong with 3 birdies in his final six holes. For the tournament, Rahm is 6-over par, far out of contention at 11 shots behind the leaders as of this writing. However, he did make Friday's cut, which gave him two extra rounds to play and some extra money to make, so hopefully he can find some consolation in that.
