Garrett entered the game in the top of the seventh inning with the Royals holding a comfortable 12-4 lead. He managed to strike out White Sox batter Elvis Andrus on six pitches before the Royals medical staff came out to check on him, at which point Garrett proceeded to vomit on the grass.

Garrett dropped down to his knee at one point, but walked off the field under his own power. The official word is that Garrett left the game with an "illness", which from our vantage point would appear to be some type of stomach bug. We hope he is OK.
A few years back when he was pitching for the Reds, Garrett started a bench clearing brawl with the Pirates after being pulled from a game. However, these circumstances were clearly different.
In the final box score, Garrett gets credit for pitching a third of an inning with one strikeout as the Royals beat the White Sox 12-5.
