It happened in the 69th minute after Antony was taken down as he tried to dribble through midfielder Alexis Mac Allister and defender Pervis Estupiñán. As Brighton took control of the ball in their own end, Antony pleaded his case to the referees to no avail. He clearly was not happy and released his frustration by taking down Mac Allister from behind with a hard foul. Officials awarded a free kick to Brighton while Dunk came running over to confront Antony, bumping him in the chest.
Antony refused to back down and bumped Dunk back before Man U teammate Fred stepped in to keep Antony separated from Dunk and other Brighton players who were defending their teammate.
Antony and Dunk were both shown yellow cards for their roles in the tussle.
In the end, Mac Allister got the last laugh as he scored the game winner on a penalty kick during extra time to give Brighton & Hove Albion the 1-0 victory.
