It started in the top of the seventh inning with two outs as the Rays held a 6-1 lead. Pirates batter Bryan Reynolds hit a grounder to Franco, who found himself with so much time to play with that he took a moment to flip the ball to himself, with a little spin to it, before tossing the ball to first base for the third out to end the inning.

To follow it up, Franco was the leadoff batter in the bottom of the seventh inning and proceeded to hit a 425-foot home run to center field to extend the Rays lead to 7-1.
Franco finished the game 2-for-5 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored as the Rays won the game 8-1. After this performance, he is proving himself as a player to keep an eye on as an up-and-coming superstar in MLB.
