Luke Voit wears sleeveless jersey, hits HR for Triple-A Mets (Video)

Luke Voit rounds bases with sleeveless jersey after solo HR, RailRiders vs. Mets, 7/1/2023
In Triple-A minor league baseball action, Syracuse Mets designated hitter Luke Voit wore a sleeveless jersey for Saturday night's game against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.

Voit is trying to get back to the major leagues after being designated for assignment by the Milwaukee Brewers earlier this year. He was signed by the New York Mets a few weeks ago and was assigned to their Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse.

In the bottom of the eighth inning of Saturday's game with the Chiefs losing 7-1, Voit hit the 0-1 pitch 424 feet into left field and off the scoreboard for a solo home run. That gave him an opportunity to show off his big arms with his sleeveless jersey.

The sleeveless look is pretty rare these days, although a few years back, the Reds went sleeveless with throwback uniforms. Voit was clearly taking advantage of the opportunity to sport the look while he had the chance, as he will likely not be able to once he gets called up to the majors.

The HR was Voit's only hit in the game as he went 1-for-4 as the Chiefs lost to the RailRiders 8-3.
