Griffin was on a boat in Lake Union to provide some hype for Saturday's University of Washington football game against Boise State, which he would be covering on Saturday as a broadcaster. Griffin was excited for the upcoming season that he decided to jump into the lake, even though he was dressed in a jacket, shirt, tie and pants.
To top it off, Griffin decided to do a split while in the air as he jumped in. Unfortunately, Griffin's pants were not designed to be that flexible, and he ripped them right in half.

SpongeBob Squarepants couldn't have done it any better.
That could have went a lot worse for Griffin. At least he didn't hurt himself, and he has certainly taken some shots on the football field. However, it is clear that Griffin is as excited as most of us that college football is back in action.
