SNY field reporter Steve Gelbs wore a hot dog suit during Tuesday night's New York Mets game against the visiting Chicago Cubs in honor of Dollar Dog Night at Citi Field.
Fans attending the game had the opportunity to buy $1 Nathan's hot dogs. Gelbs kept a straight face as he delivered a report for a segment called "What I Saw During Batting Practice" as the bottom of the third inning began, which was difficult for viewers to pay attention to as Mets announcers were too busy hysterically laughing at his choice of outfit.
The segment -- What I Saw During Batting Practice -- was about how players prep their bat handles.

Gelbs is used to getting himself into hilarious situations, such as the cup snake interview at Wrigley Field back in 2022.
As for the Mets, between the cheap hot dogs and the 4-2 win, their fans went home really happy tonight.
UPDATE: With the promotion, the Mets set a franchise record for hot dogs sold in one evening.
