UConn men's basketball coach Dan Hurley made a cameo appearance on WWE Monday Night Raw with tag team champions The Awesome Truth.
WWE Monday Night Raw was broadcast live from the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Although the UConn campus is about 30 minutes away in Storrs, the UConn men's and women's basketball teams will play some home games in the XL Center, so they are familiar with the arena.
The segment was a bit silly as R-Truth wanted to arrange a match against the Huskies, as he was convinced that the NCAA were an smalltime independent wrestling promotion. The Miz tried to get him to understand that the Huskies are not a tag team, but a basketball team.

It's not the first time a college coach has appeared on WWE Raw. Former Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh showed up at WWE Raw and pumped up the crowd in Detroit back in 2016.
Hurley did a good job representing UConn, and compared to many of his evenings behind the bench, this must have been an easy night for him. Just smile, wave and nod, with only one short line of dialogue. After winning back-to-back national championships, Hurley deserves a night to relax and have fun.
