Angel Reese quadruple-teamed by Liberty to end double-double streak (Video)

Angel Reese quadruple-teamed, Liberty vs. Sky, 7/13/2024

The WNBA record double-double streak of Chicago Sky superstar rookie forward Angel Reese ended at 15 games on Saturday with their 81-67 loss to the New York Liberty, who went to great lengths to prevent her from extending it.

Reese came very close, as she had 8 points and 16 rebounds as the Liberty had the ball with less than 20 seconds left in the game. However, as she received a pass on the baseline and dribbled towards the baseline, she found herself surrounded by not one, not two, not three, but FOUR Liberty defenders.

Reese had no choice but to pass the ball back out, and with the Sky down by 14 points, they decided to wind down the clock to end the game.

That's a tough way to end it, but she gave it her best shot. It could have been worse. At least she didn't miss out due to a mistake by a teammate.
