American pro golfer Davis Riley found himself in an incredibly awkward predicament as he found his ball wedged in one of the legs of a lawn chair during Sunday's final round of the 3M Open tournament.
It happened with his second shot on the par-4 7th hole after his tee shot landed in a sand trap. Riley's back foot slipped, and his shot bounced in the rough in front of a row of fans, with one fan quickly getting out of his chair to avoid the ball, which bounced and somehow landed inside a series of metal rods that make up one of the rear legs of the chair. Riley and his caddy came over and were completely perplexed as to how the ball got itself in there and what to do about it.
We have seen golf shots land in peculiar places before, including a palm tree, but this is certainly a new one. What are the odds?
Despite the bad lie, Riley made par for the hole and finished at 2-under for the round, putting him at 5-under for the tournament, tied for 46th overall. Not bad at all, and he should take home a decent paycheck.
