Ludvig Aberg's approach shot hits another ball at Scottish Open (Video)

Ludvig Aberg approach shot hits another ball, Scottish Open first round, 7/11/2024

Swedish pro golfer Ludvig Aberg had the misfortune of hitting an approach shot that landed on another ball during Thursday's first round of the Genesis Scottish Open.

It happened with his second shot on the 8th hole as Aberg was 148 yards away from the pin. The shot was accurate and would have landed pretty close to the pin had it not hit the other ball. As a result, both balls bounced off the green in opposite directions.

Now that has to be a one-in-a-million shot. It has probably happened before, but we haven't seen it. We have seen shots hit fans and get stuck in trees, but this is just incredibly bad luck.

Aberg ended up with a bogey on the hole, but he managed to keep things on track to have a strong first round overall at 6-under. That was good enough to finish tied for third place at two strokes behind leader Justin Thomas.
