A St. Louis Cardinals fan made a fantastic grab of a foul ball during Wednesday's game against Texas.
It happened in the bottom of the eighth inning with two outs and nobody on as the Cardinals held a comfortable 10-1 lead over the Rangers. On a 1-2 pitch, Cards pinch hitter Nolan Gorman hit a high fly ball down the first base line that curved foul and into the right field stands. The fan in the stands adjusted his position, leaped up and caught the ball at the height of his jump. He came down a bit hard on a nearby railing, but held onto the ball. The fan received a well-deserved ovation from the home crowd and a big high-five from a nearby fan.
We have seen some impressive foul ball catches over the years, and this one ranks right up there near the top. Someone needs to sign that fan to a contract today.
