Arkansas Razorbacks senior running back Ja'Quinden Jackson waved to an opposing cheerleader after scoring a long touchdown during Thursday night's 2024 season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
It happened with about 5:15 remaining in the first quarter as the Razorbacks had the ball on the Arkansas-Pine Bluff 46-yard line with a 14-0 lead. Quarterback Taylen Green took the shotgun snap and tossed it to Jackson in the backfield, and he did the rest. Jackson burst through the hole paved for him by his offensive line and turned on the jets, outrunning the defense on the way to a 46-yard touchdown.
After crossing the goal line, Jackson looked to the side of the field where the Arkansas-Pine Bluff cheerleaders were standing and waved to one of them before celebrating the TD with his teammates.

Nothing inappropriate here, as Jackson seemed to be a perfect gentleman. Fortunately, there were no technical issues on the ESPNU broadcast during Jackson's TD, so viewers were able to see the whole play.
We have seen NFL players dancing with cheerleaders before. Nothing wrong with the players having a little fun during the game, as long as they stay focused on the task at hand.
Jackson finished the evening with 101 yards on 8 carries with 2 touchdowns. His night ended early as the Razorbacks held a 49-0 lead at halftime over the Golden Lions.
