A soccer league championship celebration in Paraguay was halted abruptly when the championship trophy accidentally became entangled in some electric power lines.
Libertad de Pirayú recently become champions of the Pirayutense, a regional lower-level soccer league in Paraguay. A parade was held with players celebrating on top of a bus with an open roof. The players held the trophy as they drove through town with their fans cheering for them.
Suddenly, the trophy became caught on a power line and was yanked out of the hands of the players holding it. That was probably for the best as sparks began to fly - literally. Check out the video and see for yourself.

Thankfully the players were unharmed in moment that could have ended in tragedy, but instead will be funny anecdote for players and fans. 🇵🇾pic.twitter.com/DkE68FqPWW
Some loyal fans were seen afterwards trying to disengtangle the trophy with a long stick but did not seem to be having much luck. We can hear a siren in the background, so we are guessing that the fire department was called in to help, as they would be more equipped to handle this type of potentially dangerous situation.
It's safe to see you don't see this happen every day. We have seen players injure themselves celebrating before, but have never seen a championship celebration completely derailed. These players are very fortunate that no one was hurt.
