Scottie Scheffler wins Olympic Gold, gets emotional during National Anthem (Video)

Scottie Scheffler gets emotional in gold medal ceremony, Olympics, 8/4/2024

Top-ranked Americal golfer Scottie Scheffler won the Olympic gold medal on Sunday and became emotional on the podium as "The Star-Spangled Banner" played during the medal ceremony.

Scheffler came from behind to take the gold with an incredible 9-under in the final round to finish 19-under for the tournament. He finished one stroke ahead of Great Britian's Tommy Fleetwood and two strokes ahead of Japan's Hideki Matsuyama, who won silver and bronze, respectively.

Scheffler has won several tournaments this year, including The Masters Tournament. He has also had an eventful year off the course, including the birth of his son and his inexplicable arrest during the PGA Championship. Given that background, it is easy to understand why all of his emotions caught up to him at this moment as he reflects on all he has been through.

We have seen golfers become emotional after achieving significant milestones, and we expect to see more tournament victories from Scheffler in the future.
