Soccer player ejected for urinating during Copa Peru match (Video)

Player caught peeing on side of pitch, Atletico Awajun vs. Cantorcillo FC

In Copa Peru soccer action, a player was ejected from a match during a break in the action for urinating on the side of the pitch.

It happened in the 72nd minute of a match this past weekend between Atletico Awajun and Cantorcillo FC. As medical staffers were tending to Cantorcillo goalkeeper Lucho Ruiz prior to an Atletico Awajun corner kick, Sebastian Munoz was waiting to take the kick but apparently had to relieve himself. Since there was a break in the action and Munoz was off to the side of the pitch anyway, he took advantage of the break in the action to pee.

Unfortunately for Munoz, a player from Cantorcillo got the attention of the official and pointed to Munoz while he was still mid-stream. Munoz was able to finish up, but the official gave Munoz a red card.

This certainly doesn't happen every day. We don't blame the official for ejecting Munoz, as players need to held to high standards of behavior on the pitch. We understand that emergencies happen, but if you have to go that bad, find a bathroom or a port-a-potty. Otherwise, hold it until the match is over.

Believe it or not, this is not the first time we have seen a soccer player take a pee break in the middle of a match. Back in 2015, a goalkeeper in an amateur match in Belgium relieved himself behind the goal line while his defenseman took a goal kick. Unfortunately, the other team took possession of the ball and scored on an empty net while he was still peeing.
