Adam Thielen clearly frustrated with Bryce Young during Panthers loss to Chargers (Video)

Adam Thielen frustrated, Chargers vs. Panthers, 9/15/2024

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen showed his frustration with quarterback Bryce Young's failure to get him the ball despite being open during Sunday's blowout loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

It happened with under eight minutes remaining in the third quarter as the Chargers held a 23-3 lead. The Panthers had 3rd and 7 on their own 33 yard line. Thielen ran a slant pattern towards the middle of the field and was clearly open, but Young was unable to get him the ball, instead taking a sack and losing 8 yards. Thielen nearly went full surrender cobra, but instead threw his hands down in disgust, then took his helmet off and appeared to scream an expletive in anger.

Thielen finished the game with only 2 catches for 20 yards. He is in the second year of a 3-year, $25 million contract, so he took the money knowing that the Panthers may not be a contending team. However, with Young being the top pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, Thielen was optimistic that things would begin to turn around for the Panthers by now. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case.

Meanwhile, Young finished the game 18-for-26 but for only 84 yards with an interception. For whatever reason, things are not working out for Young so far.

The Panthers lost the game 26-3, and after last week's 47-10 blowout loss to the Saints. They appear to be far and away the worst team in the NFL right now, and unless they make some drastic changes, they could be looking at the number 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and could very well be looking for a new quarterback.
