Athletics grounds crew member gives dirt to fans, Rangers vs. Athletics, 9/25/2025

An Oakland Athletics grounds crew member collected dirt from the Oakland Coliseum field to give to fans after Wednesday night's game against Texas.

This series with the Rangers is not only the final homestand of the season for the A's, but also the final homestand that will be held in Oakland as the A's are moving to Las Vegas. They will be playing in Sacramento for the next three seasons until their new stadium in Vegas is ready in 2028.

Understandably, the Oakland fans are sad to see their team leave, so they want a keepsake to remember them by. One particular grounds crew member helped the fans out by using his shovel to fill their plastic water bottles with dirt from the field.

We usually see MLB grounds crew members go viral for breaking out some dance moves or getting swallowed by the "tarp monster". The generosity of this grounds crew member should be commended.

The A's lost to the Rangers 5-1 on Wednesday. Their final game in Oakland is Thursday.
