Kansas St. WR Jayce Brown blows kiss to cheerleader after TD vs. Oklahoma St. (Video)

Jayce Brown blows kiss to cheerleader, Kansas St. vs Oklahoma St., 9/28/2024

Kansas State Wildcats sophomore wide receiver Jayce Brown blew a kiss to an Oklahoma State cheerleader after scoring a touchdown during Saturday's Big 12 Conference football game at Boone Pickens Stadium.

It happened with under 3:30 remaining in the second quarter with Kansas State on offense looking to extend a 14-13 lead. On 2nd and 8 from their own 45-yard line, quarterback Avery Johnson took the shotgun snap, dropped back a few steps and made a perfect throw to Brown, who somehow slipped past the defense and had no one within 15 yards with him. Brown caught it at the 16-yard line and was able to jog into the end zone for the 55-yard TD reception. Brown then saw the Oklahoma State cheerleaders standing behind the end zone and blew one of them a kiss before heading back to the sideline to celebrate with his teammates.

Acknowledging the opposing cheerleaders is fast becoming a popular part of college football touchdown celebrations. This especially seems to be the case on long touchdowns when players have to wait for their teammates to catch up to them in the end zone. These celebrations are pretty harmless and so far have shown no risk of being flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Brown finished the game with 4 catches for 78 yards. The touchdown was his first score of the season. The Wildcats beat the Cowboys 42-20.
