Lions execute perfect hook and ladder play for TD vs. Cardinals (Video)

Amon-Ra St. Brown resuscitates Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions vs. Cardinals, 9/22/2024

The Detroit Lions executed a perfect hook and ladder play for a touchdown during Sunday's game in Arizona.

It happened in the last minute of the second quarter as the Lions were looking to extend their 13-7 lead. The Lions had the ball on offense with first and 10 on the Cardinals 21-yard line. Goff dropped back to pass to wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown as he ran an inside route on the 18-yard line. Then, St. Brown tossed the ball to Gibbs on the 20-yard line after he snuck out of the backfield uncovered. Gibbs took the ball and ran up the field, taking a few Cardinals defenders off guard while tight end Sam LaPorta held his block near the end zone to allow Gibbs to score.

Gibbs heaved the ball into the stands after scoring, then pretended to have a heart attack so St. Brown could "resuscitate" him with CPR. Nothing wrong with having a little fun with a touchdown celebration, as long as its not inappropriate.

The Lions kicked the extra point to take a 20-7 lead. At halftime, the lead was 20-10.
