Devin Booker crashes into announcers table face-first vs. Lakers (Video)

Devin Booker crashes into announcers table, Lakers vs. Suns, 10/17/2024

Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker crashed into the announcers table during Thursday night's NBA preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

It happened less than two minutes into the first quarter with the Lakers holding an early 8-3 lead. Booker was hustling towards the sideline at center court to save the ball from going out of bounds to keep a Suns offensive possession alive. Unfortunately, not only was he unable to prevent the ball from going out of bounds (as the ball bounced on the sideline before he could touch it), but Booker's momentum carried him right into the announcers table. Booker's face collided with a bunch of monitors and other technical equipment, knocking it over.

Although it is only preseason, we appreciate the hustle play by Booker, risking potential injury to try to save the ball for his team.

Kevin Harlan, on the play-by-play for TNT, always knows how to turn a situation into a memorable call. This time, he joked how Booker's play messed up his desk layout: "I have spilled stuff all over my notes. How am I going to do this game, Devin?...The notes are ruined! The whole thing is messed up..."

Fortuantely, Booker was OK and went on to have a solid game, leading the Suns with 22 points in 28 minutes of game action. However, it wasn't enough as the Lakers beat the Suns 128-122 in overtime.
